WHY WE’RE DOING THIS
We have more in common than politics lets us admit.
The loudest political voices often make it seem like every election is a choice between two groups of people who have nothing in common.
That has not been my experience.
At thousands of doors and conversations across this area, I've has met Democrats, Republicans, independents, first-time voters, and people who have kind of given up on voting. These people don't agree on everything, but so many are asking the same basic questions:
Why does everything keep getting more expensive?
Why are we paying more while local services get weaker?
Why is healthcare so difficult to afford and navigate?
Why do farmers, schools, and small towns keep being asked to do more with less?
Why do politicians spend so much time fighting and so little time explaining what they actually did?
“We Don’t Have to Agree on Everything” is an invitation for all of us to step outside the usual political script.
It is a place to say:
I may not agree with Emily on every issue, but I believe she will listen, tell us the truth, and work on the problems affecting our lives.
It is also a place to say:
I am not sure who I am voting for yet, but this is what I need my next senator to understand.
Both voices belong in this project.
